Chris McSherry, a trophy hunter in Australia experienced the absolute strength of the buffalo when he was attacked by a dying buffalo he’d just shot. The incident happened while Chris was bow hunting with his friend at Port Bradshaw off the northeast coast of the Northern Territory, on Saturday morning

The father of five was gored twice in the leg by a 1,7000-pound-bull that he shot with his bow – for sport.

As per Daily Mail reports, 35-year-old Chris McSherry had been hunting for 20 years. Chris was on a trip with his buddy at Port Bradshaw on the weekend, when he shot the buffalo.

‘I managed to turn and get about three steps in before he was on my back and gored his horns into my upper thigh, pushing me forward,’ Chris McSherry told the news.

Chris shot the buffalo several times with his arrows and waited impatiently for it to fall over, but the Buffalo charged towards him.

But this was not over for the wounded buffalo, it lodged another defensive Mcsherry’s way, plunging its horns into his right leg. The buffalo then picked McSherry up by his gored thigh.

‘That’s when I hit the ground and he put the horns into me again, picked me up by the right leg, and flung me about three meters.’ Chris recalled. The father of five was thrown the third time and it is, however, unclear that what exactly stopped the buffalo’s rampage, but Chris somehow managed to escape and roll a few feet away.

35-year-old Chris was then quickly rushed to Gove hospital where he received surgeries for the injuries. He was later flown to Darwin for surgery on several deep wounds across his lower body.

Chris Mcsherry claims he will not be deterred by this incident.

“The buffalo left me with some decent wounds, there’s a Coke can-sized hole above the front of my knee and an eight-inch gash right under my bum, he told the news.”

The near-death experience didn’t do enough to cull Chris Mcsherry’s penchant for hunting, however, he updated his status on social media:

Buff is dead I’m alive(this time) and hope to be back with my family and friends soon thanks for all the well wishes on other posts I appreciate the love and support and will live to HUNT another day.

However, this is not the first time that Chis had a near-death experience, in the past, he was charged by a crocodile on a spearfishing trip. Chris later said that he had been a hunter for 20 years and wouldn’t let any close calls stop him from hunting again.
