Queensland child rapist who filmed himself repeatedly raping his girlfriend’s two years old daughter and put a muzzle on her to stop screaming has argued that his jail sentence is ‘excessive.’

Jason Daron Mizner, 44 was sentenced to 19 years in jail in 2018 after he pleaded guilty to 65 child sex offenses relating to the toddler from the early 2000s.

Before committing the offenses he formed a relationship with the girl’s mother. Jason’s sickening rap sheet included more than 30 counts of rape and videotaping the assaults.

Jason stayed in Thailand, where he formed another relationship with a local woman before assaulting her young daughter there too and being arrested by Thai authorities.

He was only caught when he went to Thailand and left a bag of his possessions at home, which the two-year-old girl’s mother found. Jason’s bag was filled with handwritten notes of children’s names and details on how to exploit them and several videos of his horrifying abuse.

Along with the names and videotapes of the abuse, the bag also contained addresses of single mothers and plans for a child exploitation ring.

The Queensland Court of Appeal refused Jason Mizner’s application for leave to appeal the sentence.

Mizner served 11 years of a 35-year sentence in a Thai prison before being arrested on his return to Australia, where he was later sentenced to 19 years in jail.

This means that Jason Mizner will have spent 26 years in continuous custody across two countries before he is eligible for parole. Jason, who also videotaped the assaults unsuccessfully argued that the sentence didn’t properly take into account the time he spent in prison overseas.

Jason Mizer was given a 35-year sentence for the crimes in Thailand, he served 11 years before being released on bail in 2016 and deported back to Australia where he was arrested by Australian authorities on his return to Brisbane.

Judge Clair said during sentencing last year that she had struggled to cope with the disturbing footage despite having 30 years experience dealing with cases of extreme child abuse.

“I only watched a portion, and it has been a battle to get the vision of your offending out of my head. I cannot imagine the horror of it for the girl’s mother.”

Judge Clair has been so much traumatized by the graphic footage hat she had to delay sentencing.Claie said that Jason had shown no remorse to his heinous crimes.
